My name is Allison Povey, I am a family historian based in Newcastle upon Tyne, North East England and I can help introduce you to your ancestors.
I was bitten by the family history bug when I researched my own family. I was finding relatives I had heard about, but never met, and the family stories I had heard since childhood started to come to life.
Old family photographs allowed me to see what some of my ancestors looked like and by adding information found in newspapers, copy wills and army records my hidden family slowly emerged into the light.

The research I undertake can take your family history back to the early 1800’s or late 1700’s. I will provide details of the birth, baptism, marriage and death of your direct ancestor (where available) as well as details about your ancestors and their immediate family from the 1841-1911 census records and the 1939 register.
The majority of my projects follow one family surname back through time but I have experience with a variety of projects. Get in touch with your project idea. Recently I researched the provenance of a medal purchased by a collector.
